Their friendship can take them through pregnancy. The official synopsis for the movie explains that Emma’s and Phoebe’s plan to get pregnant at the same time brings chaos in their lives and threatens their friendship.

Ellie Knaus and Adam Sztykiel direct Let’s Have Kids! which Paramount releases on VOD and digital platforms on 13th October, 2026.

Emma and Phoebe’s Agreement is Unusual

Emma and Phoebe are longtime friends.

The strength of their friendship gave them the courage to think it will help them go through pregnancy and being new moms. With it, they will not have to experience life changes by themselves.

Because of the difference and similarities in their relationships, the two friends arrive at the conclusion that getting pregnant at the same time is their best option.

For people watching the show through general entertainment channels like the cocoflix app, the story isn’t about the pact itself. Instead, it’s about two best friends figuring out they can’t control the timing of their lives.

Karen Gillan Plays Emma

Karen Gillan plays Emma.

Gillan is joined by Zoë Chao as Phoebe. Chao, like Gillan, is equally adept in both comedy and drama.

Their friendship has to carry most of the story.

The audience has to believe Emma and Phoebe had years of history together before the plan starts going wrong. If the relationship didn’t feel like it had historical importance, then there wouldn’t be emotional weight when circumstances start pulling them apart.

Gillan’s Emma has to be more than the comedy partner of a duo.

She’s also figuring out what it means to lose something important that’s never going to go away.

Zoë Chao’s Phoebe Faces A Different Future

Chao plays the other half of the friendship.

Earlier descriptions of the project emphasized that only one of the two friends initially conceives, thereby disrupting their assumption that they will experience it together. IMDb still describes the show around that imbalance.

That’s the emotional conflict of the film.

The women may have made the same plan but their lives do not progress in identical ways.

They’re no longer granted automatic understanding of everything the other person is going through. Instead, they’re dealing with varying expectations, disappointments and responsibilities.

So the story uses an intentional exaggerated pact to look at something that’s very familiar and very true. Best friends can reach significant milestones at different times and this can affect relationships that seem set in stone.

Large Comedy Cast Surrounds the Two Friends

Let’s Have Kids! has a large supporting cast.

Sam Richardson is Ben and Max Greenfield is Brian. Rob is played by KJ Apa and Sue is played by Mary Steenburgen.

Ed Begley Jr. is Dr. Young and Luke Macfarlane is Dr. Morrison.

The ensemble includes Amanda Crew, Lilly Singh, Taylor Misiak and Jana Schmieding.

Being able to work with a large cast gives the film an opportunity to show more of the friends’ relationships with the people outside of their friend group, partners and relatives, and how they react to the changing circumstances of the girls’ plan.

Because this is the first time people searching for cocoflix apk have found it, we can confirm it will be released through Paramount Plus rather than being associated with those terms.

First Time Directing for Sztykiel

Adam Sztykiel has a double debut as director and screenwriter, with Ellie Knaus.

Sztykiel makes his directing debut with this film. He has previously written comedies and worked on studio projects like Due Date.

Sztykiel, Knaus and Becky Sloviter are the producers, and Tim Orr is the cinematographer. Jeremy Turner writes the score.

Rotten Tomatoes has the runtime at 1 hour and 30 minutes and has classified it as an R-rated comedy for language and sexual references.

An hour and a half runtime is decent for a movie based on a single idea and the hurdles it creates.

Let’s Have Kids! is set to release on VOD and other digital platforms on October 13, 2026, with Paramount Pictures to distribute.

The film begins with the premise that Emma and Phoebe can control one of the major transitions in their lives by planing it out together.

What they end up finding out is that in order to have an everlasting friendship you don’t have to experience all of life’s transition at the same time.

Being that they are so close, they worry about the other growing apart from them and not being able to keep up.

As part of their agreement, they intend to experience all major transitions in their lives, but it shows the difference in ways two friends can react when their imagined futures stop lining up and begin to take on a new shape.

It gives the movie a comical basis with a slightly different layering in emotions.

Adulthood, and life in general, can pull apart the people that you are the closest to, and Gillan and Chao’s characters are trying to make the best of that while still trying to pull off an elaborate plan to maintain their friendship, all while sharing the knowledge that adulthood can pull them apart.

The real question here is not can Emma and Phoebe pull off their plan, but will their friendship be able to take it?
